Herbal Garden & Edible Flowers

Herbal Garden and Edible Flowers

There are many well known edible flowers i.e. roses, pansies, nasturtiums and  lavender. However, there are edibles that are not well-known.

The flowers of the common, lowly dandelion make a beautiful and colorful table arrangement and the greens are delicious in a salad.

Lilacs are a lovely addition to salads; infused in sugar, they are delicious when added to cookies and cakes; beverages become really special when a simple syrup, made of lilacs, sugar and water is added.

Hot Tip:  Don’t have the time or money to buy those fancy flowers for your table?

Why not use the herbs from your garden and create an interesting and beautifully scented centerpiece!

Taking Tea

A Garden Tea 2.jpg

“Better to be deprived of food for three days, than tea for one.”

                                                  -Chinese Proverb

Tea is an art that can be elegant or simple, whether taken alone, with a friend or a group.

It can bring warm and comforting pleasure.

Get to Know Me

I'm Christine

Since my youth, I’ve had an appetite for delicious foods, beautifully presented.  My intrigue, began with my Austrian grandmother’s wide range of culinary treats.  I remember her dumplings, green tomato pie, concord grape jelly, cookies and cakes of all kinds!

The tastes and images remain indelible in my senses……the first burst of flavor of rosemary chicken, fresh sockeye salmon sautéed in dill butter and breaded eggplant bathed in fresh tomato would inspire me to research different foods.
